    Soybeans are a type of legume that is the basic ingredient of many foods from East Asia such as milk, soy sauce, tofu, and tempeh. Based on archeology, this plant has been cultivated since 3500 years ago in East Asia. (Wikipedia.org)


    Soybean is one of the legumes that has the highest vegetable protein content when compared to other types of beans such as tolo beans, kidney beans, green beans, gude beans and peanuts. This was confirmed by Astawan (2004) that whole soybeans contain 35-40% of the highest protein of all types of beans. In terms of protein, soybeans have the best nutritional quality, which is almost equivalent to protein in meat.
